How to Have a Personal Relationship with God

The problem that we have as humans standing before a holy God is that all of us have sinned and fall short of God’s holy standard. The wages of our sin is eternal death and the only solution to the problem of sin is for someone without sin to take the punishment that we deserve.
The Bible in John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
In order to take advantage of what Jesus has done for us we have to confess that we have sinned and need forgiveness. We then have to accept the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as our Saviour. We also have to accept Jesus as Lord of our lives in addition to our savior from the punishment of our sin.
